It is quite obvious that unexpected pregnancy puts some women in state of depression if they select to abort their child unwillingly. But the study of American Psychological Association (APA) is just opposite to what is being actually examined. APA revealed that after abortions women feel loss of one of their precious body parts but they are not at all at the risk of getting mental health related problems such as anxiety and depression.

The psychologist Brenda Major claimed that the adult women who terminate their pregnancies after giving birth to one or more children are less likely to undergo psychological effects as compared to those young women who abort for the very first time.

There are some factors which are discovered to raise the risk of long lasting mental health effects varying from higher stress levels to complete depression:

Depression remains for days or months after a woman terminates her pregnancy due to any of the reasons. Those who abort their child reluctantly will have to be enough strong and think that it is a part of life which cannot be changed under any circumstances.

I beg to disagree with the findings! Irrespective of any personal biases ie religious or not, there tend to be certain degree of guilt involved in an abortion, wanted or unwanted. with guilt unless properly handled, invariably leads to depression to certain degree.

Abortions are very sad for all involved and more trauma than anybody should have to endure..

It is becoming more and more apparent that stress from the lack of emotional support creates more illness and depression than most of us could have imagined.

Interesting analytical report.
