Atypical depression is a type of depression which generally depends upon the mood of the person. In different situations they have different moods like when they are alone they become deeply depressed and their mood is extremely good when they are with their friends. Generally people suffering from atypical depression feel extreme happiness and extreme sorrow.

Overeating, excessive sleeping, sensitive to reaction and weight gain etc. are some of the symptoms of atypical depression. The person who is suffering from atypical depression always thinks that he has a good support behind him in the situation of troubles. In atypical depression person temporarily feel better in favorable situations.

Causes of atypical depression are not very clear but it depends upon various factors like environmental factors, genetics factors, surroundings etc. Atypical depression generally found more in women as compare to men and if proper treatment and care is not given to person then situation may become worse.
