Depression has greatly dominated the daily lives of all age groups. Today most of us coming under the web of stress, anxiety, panic attacks. It does not only affect the mind but also the physical well being, especially heart of people. The proper intake of medicines can lower down the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Researchers at the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine have studied the stress-hemoconcentration. It is a blood chemistry work-up containing a blood cell count, hematocrit values, hemoglobin, total serum protein, and albumin. It enhances during the psychological stress which is a major risk factor for heart disease.

Ma-Li Wong, M.D is a professor and vice chairman for translational research in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences who stated some practical conclusions regarding heart disease with his colleagues. He said that they studied around 146 depressed patients and took their blood before the beginning of the treatment. They found raise measures of stress-hemoconcentration in the low to average depressed patients.

When a person is stressed out, his blood becomes thicker than normal which can cause the heart attack or stroke. All of the participants have finished around eight weeks of the trial of antidepressant treatment with either desipramine or fluoxetine (PROZAC). Then after the completion of the treatment, blood was drawn from their body and found that the measures of stress-hemoconcentration is quite improved and correlated with an enhancement in depression symptoms.

It has been proved that anti depressants can lower down the risk of cardiovascular disease. So what are you thinking? This is the true study conducted by the researchers. If you are also one of those whose acute depression is causing heart related problems, then consult the cardiologist for desipramine, fluoxetine or other effective anti depressant medicines.
