In today’s competitive world, it is normal to find depression in the lives of the majority of people. When certain situations become uncontrollable then at that time depression starts taking its place in our lives. To get relief from it people take prescribed anti depressant medicines along with yoga and medication as well which no doubt provide a big relief. Now there is one more reliever for those who are undergoing depression. Ohio State University said that depression can be fought with the “hope therapy” without any consultation from any specialized doctor.
Jennifer Cheavens, assistant professor of Psychology at the university has been quoted as saying, ‘We are searching that hope is related with a few symptoms of depression. The great news is that hope can be taught and enhanced in those people who are immensely feeling its need.’
Cheavens said that hope has two parts-a map or passage to obtain what we actually want and inspiration and power to follow it. She further said that if a person knows how to get the desired thing in his life then he has the feeling to make it happen which can be said as hope. Hope therapy is effective in enhancing and teaching the strength of the people. It is not wise to aim on the fault rather support people positively to experience their hidden talent.
Hope therapy is an innovative and positive approach in battling the depression that should be experienced once in a life besides the prescribed medicines and yoga.
